Lamai Beach is located on the east coast of Samui, and is the second liveliest beach after Chaweng. This over 4 km long beach is less crowded than Chaweng Beach, and perfect for couples and families who seek a relaxing holiday. Its downtown is smaller than Chaweng's, but still lively with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. There are some budget accommodation for long stay travellers and newly built luxury hotels such as Banyan Tree Samui and Silavadee Pool Villa are also popular.
